What is a Digital Signature?

A digital signature is the application of a cryptographic certificate to an electronic document that is linked to a person’s identity and ensures the integrity of the document. Certificates have been issued to all Sproule ERCE employees and have been verified by Notarius, a 3rd-party certificate authority.

Authenticating Sproule ERCE Reports with Digital Signatures

If using Adobe Acrobat, clients can further verify the integrity of a document as an additional measure. Please follow the instructions provided by Notarius on How to Configure Adobe Acrobat to Validate Signatures.

Please note Sproule ERCE signatures types may vary, if you are validating them please be sure to “Trust” both of the following Certificate Centres:

  • Notarius Root Certificate Authority
  • CENTRE DE CERTIFICATION DU QUEBEC

Alternatively, you can upload the PDF to the site https://verifio.com/document to verify the digitally-signed document(s).
