ERCE to Attend GET2024 Carbon Capture & Storage Conference in Rotterdam

ERCE’s Ellen Mitchell, Managing Consultant, will be attending the 5th edition of the EAGE Global Energy Transition Conference & Exhibition (GET2024), focused on Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS), from 4-7 November in Rotterdam. This location is particularly significant, as the port of Rotterdam is set to become one of the world’s first operating CCS hubs, with several projects near or past final investment decision (FID).

The conference theme, “Accelerating the Path to a Sustainable Energy Future,” highlights the urgency of our collective mission to drive a balanced energy transition. GET2024 will feature a robust programme, including technical developments and strategic sessions addressing the challenges and opportunities in advancing the CCS business case.

As the industry navigates the dual imperative of securing reliable energy access and mitigating carbon emissions, this conference will provide a platform for professionals to engage, challenge assumptions, and lay the groundwork for a resilient, carbon-neutral future.

ERCE brings over a decade of experience in the CCS sector, offering expertise in Independent Assurance and Technical and Commercial Studies. Our recent work includes independent assurance on several carbon storage sites approaching FID, positioning us at the forefront of the industry.

Ellen Mitchell – Managing Consultant

Ellen has been with the ERCE group for over 8 years, and joined ERC Evolution when it was formed in 2021. Ellen leads many of ERCE’s projects across our Decarbonisation and Emissions services, and is particularly active in CCS. 

Prior to joining the Evolution division, she was a member of the ERCE Energy geoscience team, where she integrated subsurface data including seismic, structural interpretation, well logs, and literature to construct and interrogate reservoir models from around the world. As a Project Manager within the ERCE Energy audit group, she guided multi-disciplinary teams to deliver outcomes which take into consideration subsurface, facilities, and economic elements.

Ellen holds an MEarthSci from the University of Oxford and is a CSA certified GHG emissions verifier and validator. She is an active participant in the wider geoscience community as a Fellow of the Geological Society of London and has been a visiting lecturer at Imperial College London.
